Santa Monica Pier Merry-Go-Round building in California. Built over a 100 years ago it has the worlds neatest Merry-Go-Round. It was used in the filming of many movies including the classic movie "The Sting" with Robert Redford and Paul Newman. This is an original silkscreen print which I refer to as being in a Landmark Series. This is not the original ink drawing. It is printed with dark brown ink on a light cream colored paper stock and I have signed it in pencil - it is part of a limited numbered series of only 130 total.
Robert Birkenes' award winning abstract paintings and Plein Air drawings have been featured in galleries and art exhibitions in Los Angeles; Chicago; Mexico City and South Florida. His beautiful photography of landscapes and still life's are also part of his overall creative talents. He is constantly impressed with the majesty and beauty of the American landscape as well.
